I'm Heidi Lei, the Kitchen Perfectionista and creator of the DIYer's Kitchen Remodel Planner.

I am a Kitchen Designer. My husband and I are ALSO Serial DIYers. We're destined to do most of our home projects on our own ~ because if we CAN, why not, right?  This puts me in an interesting position…

The Kitchen Perfectionista blew our mind!
We have been planning a house remodel (for what feels like) forever...and have been stuck on what to do with our kitchen.
And because we were stuck on our kitchen, it didn't feel like we could do anything else.
We needed to just do something and move forward so we asked Heidi for a design review.
With many children and many projects happening in the kitchen simultaneously (dinner, baking, homework, etc) we felt the pressure to come up with something that would feel spacious but would also be functional.
Heidi took our ideas and gave us what we wanted in a way that we didn't anticipate. We thought we had already come up with every workable idea (I guess a pretty silly assumption since we're not kitchen designers)...and she proved that there was still another way to get this done in a way that actually excites us.
It also feels good knowing we've avoided some major kitchen design mistakes by asking for Heidi's help!

I would like to shout out my praises for the help Heidi gave us in our kitchen remodel. 

We were on a path to put our stove in the island thinking that was perfect but then Heidi pointed out that a stove needs a vent hood and with the size of stove we were planning (Large!) the vent hood would have to be as big and would have taken away from the openness that an island is supposed to bring. 

Placing our stove on the sidewall ended up making it a major focal part of our kitchen and the vent hood is an addition to the beauty and not a drawback.

One other major save Heidi helped us with was the tile choice. I said the words “I want stone tiles that are real stone, not just look like stone” and then proceeded to pick out a ceramic tile that LOOKED like stone. Heidi let me go on about how I loved the stone tile and then quietly pointed out that they were in fact, ceramic tiles that only LOOKED like stone!! Go figure!  They were speedily exchanged for a beautiful travertine subway tile that I love, love, love to this day.

How much time is required to get through the materials?
It depends largely on your speed. You could read through it all and complete all the prompts in a couple of evenings or a weekend if you focus. If your style is more leisurely, or you like to dabble, you might work on bits of this over the course of a week or more.  And of course, you will use it and reference it throughout both your planning and building phases. You could consider this a “living document”.
I’ve already done a sketch of what I want. Is this still valuable for me?
Of course! You may discover an element or “rule” of good design that you never knew or considered. This discovery could be crucial to the perfecting of your design. We can always benefit from learning more than we did the day before.
I don’t have a plan at all yet. Am I ready for this?
Yes! If you have NO idea where to start, or you simply haven’t taken the step yet, this is sure to get your wheels turning!
Will you be releasing more courses in the future?
Yes! I DO have plans for some additional offerings, as well as some bigger, more comprehensive courses and consulting. Stay tuned!

Do I need to use a special program to access the materials?
Nope, just an internet connection and an email account. You will be prompted in your welcome email to create an account to access my member page and download the materials. This member page is where you will receive any updates or training videos I choose to add to the Planner.

Can this be accessed without the Internet?
No, you’ll need the internet to gain initial access to the materials. However, once you’ve accessed them you can download all the content.  At that point you CAN use it at your leisure without internet connection.
How long do I have access to these materials?  
It’s yours forever!
